About Us

Lindsey and Travis Garces are the proud new owners of Groomer Has It as of September 1st, 2024. Lindsey is a professional dog groomer while her husband Travis takes the role of operations manager. Their goal is to ensure the well-being of each and every pet entrusted to them. They pride themselves in producing quality haircuts and spa treatments, without causing any stress or anxiety. Groomer Has It works on a “one dog per groomer at a time” system, thus allowing for a cage-free and stress-free environment.

Lindsey has always loved animals. Growing up she worked for numerous animal shelters where her job was caring for all different breeds and sizes of dogs and cats. She has always been a natural with a wide range of different behaviors, temperaments, and specific needs of each individual animal. As a young adult, Lindsey ventured to the West Coast to work in the medical field (where she met the love of her life, Travis). She then transitioned to working with family services for the state of California. Although she loved helping people, there was something missing. When she returned to her hometown in Connecticut, and started helping at a grooming salon, she knew she had found her true calling. Her goal on day one was to have her own salon one day.

Travis also has always been an animal lover. Growing up with his parents in San Diego, he would come home with stray dogs and cats and try to convince them to keep them all. He then went on to be an advocate for rescuing animals in need. That is one of the things that brought the couple together in 2012. Travis served in the US Coast Guard as an X-ray technician at the age of 24 and then went on to work in the medical field for over 10 years. Travis has two passions in life. Helping people and doing anything that involves animals. His wife, Lindsey has navigated him through every step of her learning journey, so he is no stranger to the grooming world!

Groomer Has It was originally opened and operated by master groomer Monica Torres. After over 20 years in the field, she decided to start her retirement plan. She needed the right person under her wing to start training to take over. Her long-time friend Lindsey started working with her and was eager to learn. It was apparent she had an enormous amount of love and passion for the trade. She went on to train under the Owner at Tendercare Pet Salon, by Maria Conneway. It was there that she really built on her foundation and learned the elevated techniques needed for true success.

“After so many years in the business, many of the dogs and owners feel like family, and when I retire I know they will be in the best of hands.”
